This pendant serves as an artist statement, highlighting the interplay between content and form. It was originally created as an homage to a few blood spots that appeared on my chest.

Both the red coral and blood spots form in similar ways: beneath the surface – whether under the skin or underwater – they exist in a liquid or more flexible state. When exposed to air, they solidify, the blood becomes round and stable on the skin, and the coral, also known as Blood Coral, hardens and stabilizes into this gemstone-like material.
